Our nursery processes and ships new seedling orders from Monday through Wednesday each week. Orders placed between mid-Wednesday and Sunday will ship the following Monday.

All shipments are sent via express airmail, typically arriving within 2-3 days after dispatch to ensure seedlings arrive in optimal condition.

  1. Open your seedlings up as soon as they arrive.
  2. We recommend getting them into your garden as soon as you can. In the meantime, you can stand your seedlings upright in the tray and put ~ 1/4" of water in the bottom of the tray so that they don't get thirsty. Set them in a bright place.

Hydroponic Gardens

3a. Your seedlings are ready to be inserted into your Elfsys Grow Kit. Simply drop the plug into the netcups of your Elfsys Grow Kit, select either leafy green or herb grow template, and start the garden as transplanting seedling. Start dosing the nutrients at 1/2 of the vegetative stage strength, which is around 0.7~0.9 mS/m (700~900 μS/m showing on Elfsys Nutrient Meter, or 1400~1800 ppm in TDS500 scale).

Soil Gardens

3b. When you are ready to plant them in your garden, water your soil so it is moist. Transplant each seedling approximately 1' between each other. If the weather is warm, water your seedlings almost every day for the first 2 weeks so they will have the best chance of establishing their roots.

A few days after transplanting, depending on the plant variety, you can either keep all seedlings (for dense cultivation of elongated tender plants like chives or arugula) or select the strongest seedling and pinch off the rest. For indoor hydroponic cultivation under LED grow lights, it is ideal to limit planting spaces to one plant each.


Alternatively, you can gently separate seedlings early by carefully breaking apart the plug in water. Although this may damage some intertwined roots, most seedlings will recover if handled gently.

Our seedlings are between 2” - 4” in size.

Our seedlings are cultivated following organic practice. It takes a bit longer—about 3 to 5 weeks for different species—but allows the roots to develop more strength and adaptability, making them ideal for transplanting into soil gardens or hydroponic systems.

Yes, all of our seeds are non-GMO! Genetically modified seeds for home gardens are not available in the United States. So any of the seeds you buy from a seed company, garden center, and big box stores will be non-GMO.

GMO seeds are only available to commercial farmers who purchase them from specific seed dealers and the farmers often need to sign a contract and receive information on how to use the technology. GMO crops are grown in the United States but they're mainly used for production, such as: field corn, soy, canola, sugar beets, and cotton.

Products that contain GMOs include corn chips, processed foods, and high fructose corn syrup.

Our seedling plugs are made from coco coir, peat, and an organic foam binder. This biodegradable medium encourages beneficial microbial activity in the root zone, promoting a strong root system. As a result, our seedlings can be planted directly into the Elfsys Grow Kit or soil.

We grow seasonally appropriate varieties for the current season. Every few months we update our website with seedlings for the current season.

We understand how disappointing this can be — seedlings are living products and sometimes things happen in transit. While we have a no-returns policy due to the perishable nature of our plants, your satisfaction is important to us.

If your seedlings arrive in poor condition, please contact us within three (3) days of delivery. Be sure to include clear photos so our horticulture team can accurately assess their condition.

Please unpack and plant your seedlings immediately upon arrival — many plants bounce back with proper care. If, after one week, the affected seedlings show no signs of recovery, we’re happy to offer a replacement, store credit, or refund for the affected items.

Our seedlings are carefully grown under organic, pest-managed conditions, but on rare occasions, pests may appear, especially after transit or in certain environments.

If you notice any signs of pests — such as tiny insects, webbing, chewed leaves, or discolored spots — please:


1. Isolate the affected seedlings and contact us within 3 days of delivery so our horticulture team can assist you.

2. Take clear photos 3 days of delivery so our horticulture team can assist you to identify the issue and provide customer service.

3. If the seedling is still in good condition, simply soak the seedling in light dish soap water for 15~20 minutes, it will kill most pests. Then rinse with clean water before transplant. This is the most effective way to erradicate most of pests without using of harmful chemicals.
